Whisk Care & Longevity

While a Chasen is a delicate tool, proper care will significantly extend its life:

• The First Soak: Before your very first use, soak the prongs in hot water for a few minutes. This allows the bristles to "bloom" (unfurl) and become flexible.
• The Pre-Whisk Ritual: Briefly dip in hot water before every use to soften the tines and prevent breakage.
• Clean Without Chemicals: Rinse under hot water or whisk in a bowl of clean hot water after use. Never use detergent or a dishwasher.
• Dry Properly: Ideally, dry on a Chasen Holder (Kusenaoshi) to maintain its shape. Alternatively, rest it upright on its handle—never on its tips while wet.
