Wholesale matcha for cafés
Authentic Japanese matcha for your café menu, chosen by Sakura, daughter of a tea ceremony sensei. We supply cafés across New Zealand with matcha that makes a vivid green, properly matcha-tasting latte, plus the training to help your team make it well every time.
Why cafés choose Wabi
-
Chosen by a Japanese tea expert. Sakura grew up in Japan with a tea ceremony sensei for a mother. Every matcha we supply is one she would serve herself.
-
Made for lattes. Our café grades are chosen to keep their colour and flavour through milk, ice and syrups, so your latte tastes of matcha, not just milk.
-
No minimum order. Order a single pouch to start, and scale up as your matcha menu grows.
-
Try before you buy. Samples are available for just the $8 courier fee, so your team can taste the difference first.
-
Staff training included. We'll show your team how to prepare matcha consistently, from whisking to milk ratios.
-
A New Zealand family business. Based in Christchurch since 2014, supplying cafés nationwide. You'll deal directly with us, not a call centre.
Our café range
Café: our latte matcha
Bold, smooth Uji matcha made from summer-harvest leaves. It's our most popular café grade, with a full flavour that comes through milk and a bright green colour in the cup. Ideal for hot and iced lattes, smoothies and baking.
Tsubaki: ceremonial grade
First-harvest ceremonial matcha from Uji, smooth and naturally sweet. Choose Tsubaki for a premium latte, or to serve matcha straight with water.
Honoka: roasted hojicha
Toasty, nutty roasted green tea powder with naturally lower caffeine. Hojicha lattes are a popular afternoon and evening option, and a point of difference on your menu.
Haru: organic ceremonial
JAS-certified organic ceremonial matcha for cafés that want an organic option on the menu.
All our café grades are available in 1kg aluminium foil pouches, and Tsubaki and Honoka also come in 250g. We recommend 3–4g of matcha per latte, so 1kg makes around 250–330 lattes.

Training and support
Switching to a new matcha, or adding matcha to your menu for the first time? We'll help your team get it right, with hands-on guidance on preparation, recipe suggestions for hot, iced and seasonal drinks, and advice on storage to keep your matcha fresh and green. If anything changes on your menu, we're a quick message away.
For a café-strength latte, we recommend 3–4g of matcha per cup, whisked with 30–40ml of water before adding milk.
Questions
Is there a minimum order?
No. You can start with a single pouch, either 1kg or, for Tsubaki and Honoka, 250g, and scale up as demand grows.
Which matcha is best for lattes?
Most cafés use Café for lattes. It's bold enough to shine through milk and gives great value per cup. For a premium latte or matcha served straight, choose Tsubaki.
Can I try it before ordering?
Yes. We're happy to send samples so your team can taste the difference before ordering. Email us at info@wabimatcha.com to request yours.
How quickly will my order arrive?
We dispatch orders daily. Orders with payment received before 3pm go out the same day with NZ Post Courier, and most deliveries to major cities arrive the next day. Rural and regional areas may take a little longer.
How should we store matcha?
Keep pouches sealed in a cool, dark place, away from heat and moisture, and avoid storing them next to the espresso machine. Once opened, decant a few days' worth for the bar and keep the rest sealed.
